Baremetrics Open Startups alternatives
If you are looking past Baremetrics Open Startups, it is usually for one of two reasons: you want the proof on your own site rather than someone else’s, or you want it to show more than a single number. Here is what else exists, and what each one is for.
1. Thonest
A verified revenue timeline on your own site
Connect your payment processor read-only and your whole history appears — every month, as far back as your payments go. Add the launches, pricing changes and pivots, and each one carries the real figures from 30, 90 and 180 days after it. Publish it, or paste one line of code and it lives on your own domain, updating itself. Free, with a $79/month plan for running several businesses.
Best for: convincing a customer, investor or candidate that the business is real and has been for a while. Not for: analytics, or selling the company.
2. TrustMRR
TrustMRR is a directory of startups with verified revenue, built around buying and selling them. Founders connect a payment provider, and their listing shows a verified MRR figure alongside an asking price and growth rate. Its free TrustCard badge puts that figure on your own site.
Best for: You want to sell your company. TrustMRR is a marketplace with buyers on it and traffic of its own. Thonest is not, and will not pretend otherwise.
3. Indie Hackers
Indie Hackers runs a large directory of products with their revenue attached. A founder can list a product free with an account, and figures appear labelled either as self-reported or as verified against Stripe.
Best for: You want an audience of other founders. Indie Hackers has one, it is active, and Thonest does not.
4. ChartMogul
ChartMogul is a subscription analytics platform used by thousands of software companies. It connects to Stripe and other billing systems and turns them into accurate revenue metrics — MRR, churn, cohorts, expansion — on dashboards for you and your team.
Best for: You need to understand your own business. Cohorts, churn, expansion revenue, forecasting — ChartMogul is excellent at this and Thonest does none of it.
Which one you actually want
They divide cleanly. If the job is understanding your own business, you want analytics — ChartMogul or Baremetrics, and it is not close. If the job is being discovered by other founders, Indie Hackers has the audience. If the job is selling the company, TrustMRR has the buyers.
Thonest is for the fourth job, which is the one most people arrive with: a prospect is deciding between you and someone larger, and they quietly suspect you might not be around next year. A number does not settle that. A history does — and it has to be on your site, where they already are.

Connect your billing and yours is ready in about a minute. Read-only access, and nothing is public until you say so.
