Lemon Squeezy sells your software as merchant of record, and plenty of subscription businesses run entirely through it. Thonest reads it directly. Lemon Squeezy does two things differently from most processors, and both are worth understanding before you paste anything.
The key you need
In Lemon Squeezy, open Settings → API and create a new API key. Name it Thonest, create it, and copy it. It is a long token beginning with eyJ. It starts with eyJ.
Lemon Squeezy does not offer read-only keys: every API key can do everything its API allows. Thonest encrypts yours before storing it and only ever uses it to read your subscriptions. You can revoke it from the same page at any time, and your timeline keeps the history it already has.
Test mode lives in the data, not the key
Most processors give you a separate key for test mode. Lemon Squeezy does not: the same key reads test and live data, and each subscription is marked as one or the other.
So Thonest decides from your subscriptions rather than from the key. A store is treated as live only once at least one of its subscriptions is a live one. A store with nothing but test subscriptions stays in test mode, because publishing sandbox revenue as verified is exactly the claim this product exists to refuse.
What gets counted
Recurring subscription revenue, with tax excluded, since Lemon Squeezy collects tax as merchant of record. Active and past-due subscriptions count, trials do not, and annual plans are spread across twelve months.
Lemon Squeezy settles in US dollars, and the figure is reported in dollars.
