The key you need

In RevenueCat, open your project's API keys and create a new secret key on API version v2. Set Charts & metrics and Project configuration to Read only, and leave everything else with no access. It starts with sk_.

With only those permissions the key can read your project's revenue metrics, and cannot grant entitlements, delete customers or change your project. Create it inside the one project you want on your timeline: a key that can read several projects is refused rather than guessed at.

The figure is RevenueCat's own

For every other processor, Thonest reads subscriptions and computes MRR itself under one published rule. RevenueCat works differently: it reports an MRR figure of its own, and that is what Thonest records, requested in US dollars and stored as RevenueCat's figure rather than passed off as ours.

It also means your history starts on the day you connect. RevenueCat's overview reports today's figure rather than a list of past subscriptions to rebuild from, so instead of inventing months of history, your timeline begins with your first reading and grows every night from there.

The customer count is RevenueCat's count of active subscriptions, which can differ slightly from paying customers when one person holds two.

What gets counted

Today's MRR as RevenueCat reports it for your project, taken when you connect and then every night. Everything else on the timeline — the milestones, the decisions you add, and what the figure did afterwards — works exactly as it does for any other company.

Can I verify my app's revenue?

Yes, if your subscriptions run through RevenueCat. Paste a v2 secret key with Charts & metrics and Project configuration set to read only, and your first reading is taken straight away.

Does it cover App Store and Google Play subscriptions?

It reads whatever RevenueCat reports for your project, which is where your App Store and Google Play subscriptions are tracked if you use RevenueCat for them.

Why doesn't my timeline show past months?

RevenueCat reports today's MRR rather than the subscription history Thonest rebuilds the past from for other processors. Your history starts on the day you connect and is measured from then on.

Is a RevenueCat figure counted like a Stripe company's?

No, and we say so. It is RevenueCat's own MRR figure. For every other processor, Thonest computes MRR itself from subscription data under a published rule.
